Rymir Satterthwaite is the alleged illegitimate son of Rapper Jay-Z, a.k.a. Sean Carter. On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Rymir appeared on the Shaun Attwood Podcast to detail his experience as a litigate supported by a family member, Dr. Lillie Collie (Dr. Lil), in pursuit of determining paternity from Mr. Carter.

According to Dr. Lil, the family has been involved in legal proceedings with Jay-Z since 2010 and has been defrauded by Jay-Z’s legal team to shield Mr. Carter from determining Rymir’s paternity. Dr. Lil claims that Jay-Z’s team has utilized abusive litigation by “manufacturing motions” and has committed “continuous violations” enabled by the judges and attorneys involved in the court proceedings.

Rymir and Dr. Lil assert that “the judicial system needs to be changed”.  Rymir commented that the system is outdated and should be reformed to address the apparent challenges that have created the imbalance of justice reflected in the current state of affairs documented within their impending fraud and paternity cases involving Jay-Z,  in addition to the countless instances with other members of the public who have been faced with similar injustices of the court.

Dr. Lil has pointed out the unchecked culture of collusion and corruption observed while participating as a claimant party within the legal system. She has made a public plea for ethical attorneys who will advocate for Due Process and equal protection under the law. Collie commented that legislation to protect the rights of those who may not be famous, powerful, or wealthy is in process, but did not elaborate.

Collie also pointed to greed and “low-level” attorney practices as reasons why she and her Godson, Rymir may have experienced unjust legal outcomes. The claim that Rymir’s mother, Wanda Satterthwaite was underaged when involved with Carter, is another reason why it is alleged that Jay-Z may be evading paternity.

Rymir believes “that no one should have to go through this” and uses his dilemma as a call for change within the court system. Dr.Lil insists that she will not pursue the paternity case against Jay-Z because according to New Jersey statute, a refusal to establish paternity is an admission to paternity by default, and Jay-Z has refused to disprove the paternity of Rymir.

The Revised New Jersey Statute Section 9:17 – 41 (2023) provides that refusing to establish paternity is not an admission of paternity. Before the revision of the statute, Section 1 (p.) of Bill A1063 reflects that “Presumed father means a man who, by operation of law under section 10 of P.L., c. (C. ) (pending before the Legislature as section 10 this bill), is recognized as the father of a child until that status is rebutted or confirmed in a judicial proceeding.”

New Jersey legislators seem to have made amendments to the law relating to presumed paternity, but due to the facts surrounding the fraud case, Dr. Lil seems hopeful that her case will be revisited.
